State Ethics Commission Resolves Charge against Rowena Akana, Former Trustee, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, for Alleged Violations of Confidential Information Law

The Commission has resolved a Charge against former OHA Trustee Rowena Akana involving alleged violations of the Confidential Information law.  As part of the Settlement Agreement, Ms. Akana will pay an administrative penalty of $1,500.00 to the State of Hawaii.  This case – COMPL-C-17-00112 – is separate from the Commission’s Decision in COMPL-C-15-00236, issued on February 5, 2019, which imposed an administrative penalty of $23,106.53; Ms. Akana has appealed that Decision, and that case is pending before the Circuit Court of the First Circuit.
