2020 Ethics Training Schedule

(Updated 4/8/2020)

Due to health concerns about the COVID-19 virus, the Hawai‘i State Ethics Commission have cancelled all scheduled ethics training sessions.

Employees on all islands can still obtain ethics training by taking the Commission’s online training program, “Ethics for State Employees.”  The online program is available here: https://ethics.hawaii.gov/ethicsonlinetraining/.  Additional information about the State ethics laws can also be found on the Commission’s website:  https://ethics.hawaii.gov/

Employees with questions about the ethics laws are encouraged to contact the Commission’s office at (808) 587-0460 or [email protected].  The entire Commission staff is available to assist you via phone or e-mail at any time.

The Hawaii State Ethics Commission will be offering ethics training classes in 2020 for state employees on Oahu and the neighbor islands. The Commission’s training schedule is published below. Additional classes may be added to the schedule throughout the year.

The ethics training classes will provide an overview of the state ethics laws that apply to all state employees. Topics will include conflicts of interests; gifts and the reporting of gifts; confidential information; misuse of official position; and post-employment restrictions.

Classes are open to all state employees and there is no fee to attend. Online registration for each class will begin approximately one month before the training date. Employees who would like to register for a class are encouraged to check the Commission’s website to see when online registration for the class begins.
