The Hawaii State Legislature has scheduled a special session from August 28, 2017 to September 1, 2017. Registered lobbyists and organizations who lobby during the special session are required to submit expenditure reports within 30 days of the adjournment sine die of the special session. The report must identify all expenditures and contributions that relate to the legislative action considered during the special session.
In addition, if you are not currently registered and you plan to lobby during the special session, then you must register with the Hawaii State Ethics Commission within 5 days of becoming a lobbyist. (See HRS § 97-1 as amended). Please contact the Commission to check your registration, or if you have any questions regarding the lobbying laws.
